ALLOCATION

Once the Court has received a Defence it will send both parties an Allocation Questionaire for completion and return ( see below) The purpose of this stage if for the court to allocate the case to once of three "tracks" depending on the value of the Claim. This will have a big effect on the way your case is handled and the costs that you may recover. Allocation is part of the new process of active case management by the Court.

The court will allocate you to one of the following tracks based on the amount you are seeking:

1. Claims under £5,000 - Small Claims Track

2. Claims between £5,000 to £15,000 - Fast Track

3. Claims over £15,000 - Multi Track.
