wish to have advice upon. Often client's fee the need to go
to some length to explain all the history and background to
their problem before they get around to explaining the current
issue on which they need advice. It is better to ask the question
first so that we can determine what is relevant and ask you
questions.

not mind readers and that information should not be provided
by you only in response to specific questions. We can only
be a good as the briefing that clients provide. If you do
not know what is relevant it is better to let us have the
information to determine this.
- Bring all the documents (e-mails,
contracts, receipts…etc) concerning the case to the first
meeting - however irrelevant you may consider them to be.
There is little point in seeing us for Advice on an employment
matter if you do not bring a copy of your Employment Contract
with you.
- It is always a good idea to discuss
with your Solicitor the outcome of similar cases he or she
has handled to allow you to understand what the outcome might
be in the best and worst case.
- Use of fax or e-mail can speed things
up. It is best to establish the most suitable communication
method from the outset as it will save valuable time in the
long term.
- Ensure we have your contact details
at all times.
- Respond to all correspondence promptly
and deal with requests for information or documentation likewise.
If you do not have the information required, make it clear
straight away that you do not have this rather than say nothing.
- Attend all meetings as requested.
- If you are unclear about anything
please ask. Arrange to see us if you disagree with the way
we handle your matter. It is important that we are agreed
on your objective, how and when they will be achieved and
at what expense to you.

bills. Deal with these requests as soon as you can otherwise
