Requirements

To qualify for a Deed Poll or other change of name document you must be at least 18 years of age and either : -  

a) live in the United Kingdom or  

b) be a British Citizen and living in the UK or anywhere else in the world.  

If you are a foreign national living in the UK then you should check with your country's high commission or embassy in London to ascertain whether a Deed Poll or other document will be accepted to change your passport. A Deed Poll or Declaration or Change of Name Deed is recognised by the UK by all government departments and other companies and organisations.
